Cruel World: Be a Monster Contest

Cruel World is a horror-themed card game in the works from Vajra Enterprises. Each card will have a scary photograph. Send us a picture of yourself looking scary and you could appear in the card game as a monster card. You can dress up in costume, put on makeup, hide in the shadows, or just look like your normal self. The picture can be black and white or color. You can use trick-photography or photomanipulation (but keep in mind that obvious trick-photos or photomanipulations are not as scary and will not be ranked as highly, nor will photos where a camera is visible). Entries will be judged based on scariness, realism, artistic quality and originality.

Rules:

  • All submissions are due by May 1, 2005. The winner will be announced May 15, 2005.
  • The person pictured in the photo and the person who took the picture must both agree to have the photo entered in the contest.
  • Submit one picture by emailing it to submissions@vajraenterprises.com. The picture file must be at least 800x600 pixels.
  • The submission email must contain the following text, with your names:
    I __________, the person shown in the attached photograph, give permission for my image to be used as described in the contest rules posted online.
    I __________, the person who took the attached photograph, give permission for my photograph to be used as described in the contest rules posted online.
  • The picture must be portrait (taller than it is wide).
  • If your photo is selected, you must send us either a picture file of at least 1600x1200 pixels or a film negative of the photo. If we don’t receive the large file or negative in a timely manner after informing you that you won the contest, we may disqualify you and select another winner.
  • If your photo is selected as the winner, you grant Vajra Enterprises non-exclusive rights to use the photo in the card game Cruel World and in advertising for the game. The photo may be manipulated by Vajra Enterprises (e.g. cropped, resized, tint changed, etc.) for use in the game.
  • The winners will receive 4 copies of the Cruel World card game and free copies of any boosters as soon as they are released. If, for any reason, the game is never published then you will not receive copies.
